Oasis Cafe runs on term-time Fridays, 9.00a.m. – 3.00p.m. and is known locally as “The Bacon Club”. Lots of local people are finding this a great place to meet others, relax, chat and sometimes find helpful pointers to local agencies for specific needs or problems. It serves very popular All Day Breakfasts, sandwiches, soup and hot/cold drinks. There’s a children’s toy corner and a very warm welcome.
The cafe links with Bingo in the afternoon (2.00pm)
Special cafe days are organised to raise funds for charities suggested by customers, increasing our awareness of issues and giving signposting to extra support. Recent events have included Alzheimers’ Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and sight loss awareness days and a Healthy Living day.
Oasis Coffee Lounge runs on Mondays, 9.30a.m. – 12.30pm and is a slightly quieter safe place. It serves hot and cold drinks and cake and biscuits and there is always a listening ear.
An afternoon full of nostalgia was enjoyed by local residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and their carers and we are working on opportunities for more cafe-based support.
Another regular cafe-based activity is “Me Time” – aimed especially at Parents and Carers. It meets fortnightly from 10.00am on a Thursday morning. Click here for more details.
An Exciting New Venture – Oasis Community Cafe Building Extension
